Tigers release Raburn

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Tigers released outfielder Ryan Raburn on Tuesday.

Raburn hit just .171 in 66 games with the Tigers in 2012.

Detroit also purchased the contracts of pitchers Melvin Mercedes and Bruce Rondon and shortstop Dixon Machado from Triple-A Toledo. Additionally, the club outrighted the contract of pitcher Tyler Stohr to Toledo.

Rondon was tabbed the organization's minor league pitcher of the year in 2012, going 2-1 with 29 saves and a 1.53 ERA in 52 appearances between Single-A Lakeland, Double-A Erie and Toledo.
