Miami, FL (Sports Network) - The punch of the Miami Marlins batting order will return on Monday, with the club activating slugging outfielder Giancarlo Stanton from the 15-day disabled list.

Stanton has missed 36 games with a strained right hamstring, which he injured while running out a slow roller in the 10th inning of an April 29 contest against the New York Mets.

The 23-year-old smashed a career-best 37 homers in 2012, but failed to knock one out of the park in his first 71 at-bats of the current campaign.

He was starting to show signs of his power stroke when he hit three homers over a two-game span, but was then injured the following game, his 20th of the season.

Stanton is batting just .227 with nine RBI and went 0-for-15 in five rehab games with the Marlins' Class A affiliate.

Rookie Marcell Ozuna has been filling in for Stanton in right field and will move over to center. Ozuna is batting .331 with 13 doubles, two triples and 17 RBI in 36 games.

In a corresponding roster move, the Marlins placed first baseman Casey Kotchman on the 15-day disabled list with an oblique injury.

Kotchman played in just four games after returning from a 32-game absence with a hamstring injury.
