Recap: NY Yankees vs. Washington

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Ivan Nova threw three hitless innings with four strikeouts and the New York Yankees defeated the Washington Nationals 4-2 in Grapefruit League play on Monday.

The Yankees scored all four of their runs in the second inning off Washington starter Ross Detwiler, with Kelly Johnson's double plating the first run.

Zach Walters, whose error in the second led to two runs, hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to open the scoring for Washington.

Detwiler was chased after 1 1/3 innings, allowing five hits and four runs (three earned) with three strikeouts.
