According to several reports, NASCAR has notified Sprint Cup Series teams that a change from the rear wing to the spoiler will go into effect at some point during the 2010 season.

NASCAR has sent a memo to teams, informing them a test session has been scheduled for March 23-24 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. NASCAR plans to meet with teams on the alteration prior to testing.

The wing has been a fixture of the new car since its debut in March, 2007 at Bristol Motor Speedway. NASCAR used the car for select races during the '07 season before running it full-time in 2008.

Teams have raised concerns about the wing, since it has reduced downforce on the cars. The spoiler was used on the previous cars.
