Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Timberwolves forward Chase Budinger is out indefinitely after having successful arthroscopic left knee surgery on Monday.

Budinger was heading into training camp feeling confident that his knee was back to full strength, after he underwent surgery in November when he tore the meniscus in the same knee last season. He returned last season in March to play a total of 23 games.

The 25-year-old Arizona product averaged 9.4 points and 3.1 rebounds last season. He was acquired from Houston just prior to the 2012 NBA Draft and owns career averages of 9.4 points with 3.4 rebounds in 233 games for the Rockets and Timberwolves.

Corey Brewer is expected to start in place of Budinger. Brewer has averaged 9.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists through his six year career.
