Recap: Detroit vs. Toronto
Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - Andre Drummond finished with 12 points, including a go-ahead layup late in the fourth quarter, and the Detroit Pistons held off the Toronto Raptors, 101-99, in a preseason matchup at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
With Detroit down one with 35 seconds to play, Drummond, the Pistons' first- round pick out of Connecticut in June's draft, hit a big put-back bucket off a miss by Will Bynum to give the Pistons back the lead.
Brandon Knight had 14 points and dished out six assists, Greg Monroe added 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Jonas Jerebko and Rodney Stuckey each posted 10 points for the Pistons, who finished 25-41 last season.
DeMar DeRozan led the way for Toronto with 17 points, while Jose Calderon went 3-of-5 on three pointers en route to a 15-point performance. John Lucas had 16 points and five assists and Andrea Bargnani scored 10 for the Raptors.
The Pistons and Raptors will meet for a second preseason game on Friday in Toronto.Game Notes
