Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Carolina Panthers guard Garry Williams will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the ACL and the MCL in his left knee during Sunday's opener against Seattle.
Williams sustained the injury during the first quarter of the Panthers' 12-7 loss to the Seahawks and will be placed on injured reserve.
Chris Scott, who started at left guard in place of an injured Amini Silatolu against Seattle, is expected to move into Williams' post on the right side. Scott rotated with backup center Jeff Byers at right guard after Williams went down.
Williams has spent his entire five-year career with Carolina and started nine games for the Panthers last season.
