Englewood, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Denver Broncos head coach John Fox will return to the Broncos on Monday, after being medically cleared to resume his duties.
"Our organization is confident that his health will allow him to meet his head coaching responsibilities," the team said in a statement issued on Thursday morning. "While no formal restrictions will be placed on his workload upon return, he will continue to be monitored by our medical staff as his well- being remains our No. 1 priority."
Fox underwent an aortic valve replacement in a North Carolina hospital earlier in the month and has spent the past three-plus weeks convalescing.
Defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio served as interim head coach in Fox's absence, beating San Diego and Kansas City before a 34-31 overtime loss this past Sunday at New England.
The 9-2 Broncos, who are tied atop the AFC West with the Chiefs, travel to Kansas City this Sunday.
