Foxboro, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New England Patriots released Austin Collie on Tuesday, a little over a month after signing the wide receiver.
The 27-year-old Collie signed with the Patriots on Oct. 3 and caught only three passes for 34 yards in four games. The BYU product totaled 173 receptions for 1,845 yards and 16 touchdowns in 42 games with Indianapolis from 2009-2012.
Wide receiver LaQuan Williams was signed to fill the spot on the 53-man roster.
The Patriots also signed rookie running back Cierre Wood to the practice squad.
