Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree tore his Achilles tendon during organized team activities Tuesday and underwent surgery on Wednesday.

The 49ers do not expect the injury to be season-ending.

"Surgery was successful and we do not anticipate it will be season-ending for Michael," said 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh on the team's website. "It was completely torn and it was completely repaired."

Crabtree enjoyed a breakout season last year, finishing with 85 catches for 1,105 yards and nine touchdowns.

Originally selected 10th overall in the 2009 draft, Crabtree has caught 260 passes for 3,345 yards and 21 touchdowns in 58 career games with the 49ers.

With Crabtree sidelined, Anquan Boldin, acquired in a trade with the Ravens in March, becomes San Francisco's No. 1 wide receiver. Mario Manningham and Kyle Williams are both coming off serious knee injuries.
