Foxboro, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New England Patriots placed linebacker Brandon Spikes on season-ending injured reserve Monday with a knee injury.

Spikes played in all 16 games with 11 starts during the regular season and racked up 86 tackles, two passes defensed and one interception in his fourth NFL season, all with New England.

Since being selected by the Patriots in the second round (62nd overall) of the 2010 draft, the 26-year-old Florida product has compiled 286 tackles, 12 passes defensed and two interceptions in 51 games (39 starts).

New England, which earned a first-round bye in the postseason, will host Indianapolis on Saturday in an AFC Divisional Playoff round matchup.
