San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Carli Lloyd scored a pair of first-half goals to help the United States women's national team to a 3-0 friendly win over China at Qualcomm Stadium on Thursday.

The match was the first for the U.S. women since the firing of head coach Tom Sermanni, with Jill Ellis taking over the team on an interim basis.

Lloyd fired the Americans in front after 20 minutes when she lashed a shot past goalkeeper Zhang Yue that sailed just inside the right post.

Only three minutes later, Lloyd doubled her tally when she intercepted a pass and drove a shot off the left post and into the net from 25 yards.

Sydney Leroux then wrapped up the scoring in the 46th minute when she scored after being set up by Megan Rapinoe.

The team's next match will come May 8 against Canada in a friendly.
