Carter-Williams headlines NBA All-Rookie team

New York, NY ( - Philadelphia 76ers guard Michael Carter- Williams, the 2013-14 NBA Rookie of the Year, headlines this season's NBA All- Rookie First Team, the league announced Thursday.

Carter-Williams, the 11th overall pick of last year's draft out of Syracuse, was the lone unanimous decision totaling 125 first-team votes. He averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 assists and 6.2 rebounds in 70 games.

Orlando Magic's Victor Oladipo (248 points, 124 First Team votes), Trey Burke of the Utah Jazz (230 points, 108 First Team votes), Mason Plumlee of the Brooklyn Nets (214 points, 95 First Team votes) and the New York Knicks' Tim Hardaway, Jr. (204 points, 87 First Team votes) rounded out the All-Rookie First Team.

Oladipo averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.6 steals in his rookie campaign.

Burke averaged 12.8 points, 5.7 assists and 3.0 rebounds. He had 12 games with 20 or more points.

Plumlee averaged 7.4 points and 4.4 assists for the Nets. Following the All- Star break, he posted 13 games with 10 or more points and eight games with eight or more rebounds.

Hardaway averaged 10.2 points and shot 36.3 percent from beyond the arc.

The NBA All-Rookie Second Team was made up of the Boston Celtics' Kelly Olynyk (119 points, 19 First Team votes), the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo (116 points, 15 First Team votes), the Minnesota Timberwolves' Gorgui Dieng (96 points, 21 First Team votes), the Charlotte Hornets' Cody Zeller (67 points, three First Team votes) and the Oklahoma City Thunder's Steven Adams (65 points, nine First Team votes).

The voting panel consisted of 125 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada who were asked to select five players for the first team and five players for the second team, regardless of position. Two points were awarded for first team votes and one for second team votes.
