Matsuyama jumps to 13th in world rankings

Philadelphia, PA ( - Hideki Matsuyama earned his first PGA Tour title on Sunday at the Memorial and that helped him move to 13th in the world rankings.

Matsuyama parred the first extra hole on Sunday to beat Kevin Na for his first win in the United States. Matsuyama improved 11 spots to 13th this week.

Adam Scott and Henrik Stenson remained No. 1 and No. 2 in the world. Bubba Watson finished third behind Matsuyama and that helped Watson move up two spots to No. 3 in the rankings.

Tiger Woods and Matt Kuchar dropped one place each to fourth and fifth. Rory McIlroy was sixth again, and he was followed by Jason Day, Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson and Jim Furyk.

Matsuyama moved to 13th and that pushed Zach Johnson, Dustin Johnson and Jason Dufner down one place apiece and they rank 14th to 16th.

Steve Stricker improved two to 17th, while Luke Donald and Jimmy Walker both dropped two notches to 18th and 19th. Victor Dubuisson was a playoff loser in Sweden, but he jumped five places to No. 20 this week.

Charl Schwartzel and Graeme McDowell both fell out of the top 20 this week. Schwartzel was down one to 21st, while McDowell tumbled four to 22nd.

Thongchai Jaidee won the European Tour's Nordea Masters and that helped him climb 17 to No. 37 this week.
