Alameda, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Raiders signed a pair of big- name free agents on Thursday, adding nine-year veteran defensive end Justin Tuck and former Pittsburgh linebacker LaMarr Woodley.
Tuck, who spent his entire career with the New York Giants, arrives in the East Bay thanks to a two-year deal worth $11 million, according to a source cited by the San Francisco Chronicle.
One of the league's premier pass rushers, Tuck ended last season with 63 tackles and 11 sacks to go with one interception in 16 games.
Since arriving in the NFL from Notre Dame in 2005, Tuck has compiled 453 tackles and 60 1/2 sacks with a pair of picks in 127 contests for Big Blue. He was part of two Super Bowl teams in 2007 and 2011.
Woodley heads west after a successful seven-year stint with the Steelers. Although his 2013 campaign was cut short after 11 games due to a calf injury which caused him to be placed on injured reserve, he posted 36 tackles and five sacks.
The 29-year-old Michigan product, taken in the second round of the '07 draft, has racked up 299 tackles, 57 sacks and five picks (one returned for a TD) over 94 career contests (81 starts).
